Yam means salad in Thai and this week I'm treating you to a little known Isaan specialty, Thai Tuna Salad. You'll never think about tuna salad the same way again! This recipe comes from Pok Pok, a famous Thai restaurant in Portland and Brooklyn owned by chef Andy Ricker. I've upgraded this recipe with grilled tuna steaks instead of canned tuna (even though it's unbelievable with canned stuff, and how it's traditionally served)
I'm combining grilled tuna with all sorts of thai herbs and flavors to create a delectable and surprising fish salad. This dish will be served with sticky rice and should be eaten together. I will serve chopped thai green chills on the side so you can decide on the amount of spice you'd like.
