The Cooking Camp Announcement You've All Been Waiting For!
Updated: Jun 24, 2020
It's camp season at Sweet Home Thai! This summer, along with ChefScape, we're hosting Sweet Home Junior Cooking Camp (for rising 6th to 8th grades). If your child is interested in the world of cooking and wants to gain the building blocks that will make them amazing chefs, then you've found the right place! We're doing it all this summer and bringing dinner home to you!
If your culinary genius came to camp with me last summer then you know what you're in for; a week of delicious home made meals made by your own personal chef and presented to you each evening for dinner. Two birds...one stone. Fun camp for the kids...dinner for you. Parents were very impressed with the pride the kids had in presenting their dishes, each night, for the family meal.

As many of you have already heard, I've moved to ChefScape in Leesburg. This move will enhance the camp experience as the kids will get a chance to be in the middle of a real commercial kitchen with chefs cooking up various cuisines around them. Camp will take place in the teaching kitchen but there will be collaboration with the various chefs on premises.

My campers love the tasting, smelling and fun kitchen competitions but what they all agreed that their favorite was the Mystery Box Challenge that we hold on the last day of camp. Working in teams of two, they get to put the tools they've learned throughout the week, and their imaginations, into practice. You never know what you'll get for dinner on Friday! We'll have guest Chefs do the team assisting and judging.

As a Chef, Mother (yes, I capitalized that!), Girl Scout Leader and former Police Officer, I take a huge responsibility in the teaching of your children. Their safety, learning and above all, the joy they find in cooking are my top priorities during these camps. Thank you, in advance, for sending your kids to experience this week at ChefScape, where they can gain so many important life skills.
